ABKF files brief for the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops in support of girls’ and women’s sports

Today, ABKF filed an amicus brief at the Supreme Court of the United States on behalf of the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops (USCCB). The brief was jointly filed in Little v. Hecox and West Virginia v. B.P.J, which present the question whether the Equal Protection Clause or Title IX prohibits laws requiring schools to exclude biological males from girls’ and women’s sports teams. The USCCB’s brief explains why neither the Equal Protection Clause nor Title IX requires permitting males to compete in girls’ and women’s sports. And it shows that a contrary ruling on the Title IX issue could have immensely negative implications for Catholic schools and institutions.
